Decades of propaganda paved the way. Externally, we would have done the same thing to our enemies and probably have to some extent. The more curious thing is the damage caused internally. The wanton destruction being wreaked is hard to figure as to how it benefits our oligarchs and/or huge republican donors. It's so widespread I doubt it is really coordinated to a tee. I truly believe that the mega wealthy will just keep moving to "safe" havens as the rest of the world collapses. The religious zealots are easier to understand actually. It's a weird ooze. It's ugly and it is beyond borders.
