Having done some restoration work on 17th and 18th

century homes and restored furniture from those time periods, I admired the craftsmanship of the carpenters and furniture makers.
Having hunted through many salvage yards, I know the door and window casings alone would be cherished for their White House identity.
What savages we have managing our country.
Is this what we accept as a nation?
I continue to be sickened.

During his first term.

We can assume he has done the same with the White House.
Anything of value he has taken.

including all the architectural artwork, and I find it hard to believe that he learned anything since then.

He loves hurting, upsetting and shocking people.

He feels powerful and important.
And he knows there is nothing anyone can or will do to stop him.

They're the most irreverent classless people and many of them identify as Christian as a political identity as if that makes any bigoted ignorant action or utterance of theirs blessed by the Lord.

To sell of pieces of the East Wing. It’s how you know he has dementia. He always grifts.

. . . to the (fictional) destruction of statues during the George Floyd protests.

Faux is running with Hawley's comment as though he was brilliant in shutting down a CNN reporter who asked about the destruction of the historically valuable architecture of the East Wing.

Jefferson built the original one, but it was replaced.

As was a good chunk of the ground floor of the EW.

The 2nd floor and part of the ground floor of the EW was from 1942.

Historical societies spent over a month going over the place and removing things. The actual offices were relocated over a month ago.

But you're right, people would have paid a pretty penny for some of the stuff that was just trashed.

...and you're right. Everything salvageable should have been removed before demolition of the structure. Clearly it wasn't.

I think Trump just wanted to do it quickly before people realized what was happening. He didn't want to take a chance that anyone could stop it.
