I heard from someone the other day that supposedly the East Wing was unstable and needed a total renovation. They also said they heard that we spend far too much money on supposedly renting other locations for large scale state dinners.

Neither is true but with talking points like that slowly seeping in some will believe it. This would make them agree with tearing it down.
