https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQQaJq8EbJj/?igsh=ZG0wZWUwYjNkejN1Rachel Maddow says The NY Times is reporting that states are beginning to release the numbers on what Republicans health insurance policy changes will cost.
This is what Democrats are standing against. The numbers:
A family of four in Maine making $130,000 a year will pay an extra $16,000 per year in health insurance costs
A 60 year-old couple in Maryland making a combined $85,000 a year will pay an additional $13,700 per year;
The same couple in MN pays an extra $15500; an extra $18000 in NV and that couple in KY will pay an additional $23000 per year.

Just wait until people see the mandatory sequestration of Medicare funding starting in January.
CBOs Estimates of the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Effects of Public Law 119-21

How Would a Sequestration Affect Medicare and Other Programs in 2026,
Assuming That Funding Subject to That Sequestration Remained Equal to the
Amounts in CBOs January 2025 Baseline Projections?
Under S-PAYGO, reductions in Medicare spending are limited to 4 percent
or an estimated $45 billion for fiscal year 2026. That would leave $370 billion
to be sequestered from the federal budgets remaining direct spending
accounts in that year.

And over 2027-2034, the estimated sequestered amounts for Medicare range annually from $48 - $75 billion.

(And Medicare cuts is just part of the funding consequences. A gigantic axe will be taken to the rest of federal spending, starting with $370 billion next year. I'm guessing that the personal and economic effects of that will be absolutely devastating.)
