(72,178 posts)How many more of those "It was just in my crazy, drunken teen Nazi-fascination stage!" assholes are out there? We certainly don't need them darkening the doorways of sincere progressives.

(156 posts)Had to do a double take and make sure I wasn't on a white supremacist site with some of the reactions I read here.

(1,794 posts)I wouldn't have recognized that tattoo as a nazi symbol. But when it's come out that he's a military history buff and has called it by the official name, that benefit of the doubt goes away.
Leaping to conclusions is easy and sometimes you will be right, but sometimes you will be wrong. Taking some time on a decision that doesn't need to be made immediately is a good thing.

(97,620 posts)Hogg, who runs the progressive outside group Leaders We Deserve, endorsed Graham Platner, 41, on Tuesday, the same day Mills announced her campaign for the seat held by Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME).

After our historic loss in the 2024 election, conversations within the Democratic Party have rightly centered on age, the loss of young men, the working class, and the growing disillusionment of young voters, Hogg said in a statement, according to the Hill. As our party charts a path forward, Graham Platner represents not the entire solution, but a vital step in the right direction.

(2,301 posts)David Hogg like another person has bad political instincts . Young white men need to understand its not about them. If they want a better country or they want a country that can help everyone. They must vote for the best democrat with a plan. Not throw fits and vote for Trump because the focus is not totally about them.

(53,179 posts)especially about the loss of young male voters to the right. Of course we lost a lot of demographics in 2024. So it wouldn't make much sense for him to point out that 48% of Hispanics voted for Trump when Maine is 95% white.
However he doesn't seem to notice that Maine is also the state with the highest percentage of old people. Maybe they'd rather vote for one of their own. e.g. Mills
