I really hope Jasmine Crockett doesnt run for this seat in the primary, because she would be an incredible candidate for Governor.

My thought a few days ago was that she's a great campaigner who could give a lot of 2028 candidates a boost, then go for Cruz's seat in 2029.

It would be a serious kick to see her sworn in as the Junior Senator (junior to Talarico) in 2030!!

8. Agreed. Texas has an amzing opprtunity to become a strong progressive state with the right candidates to lead it.

Crockett running for Gov while Talarico runs for Senate would create a huge coattails effect to usher in a brand new progressive majority in the state legislature that could last for generations.

5. Nonetheless, if he can gain huge favorability with whites as a Democrat, he has the state in the bag.

I think he is one of the first Democrats in a while (maybe since Bernie?)who has a good shot at winning the majority of white voters in a red state.
