Not at all surprised to see the majority of states that are awful are in the "religious" south.

Wish I could afford to move back to the west coast.
What's really sad is a lot of those states in the 1970s and 1980s were middle of the road- in other words, not bad places to raise a family. Maybe not the best, but not the worst, either.
