No other administration has ever cut off food assistance for it's citizens

What the con artist and the spineless cruel Republicans are doing is unprecedented and disgustingly inhumane.

They are willing to starve people. They are going to turn off their heat next.

All because they insist on defending that big, cruel bill that will make health care insurance unaffordable for millions of people.

We mustn't forget this is all by design. When people act desperately to afford food and heat it will provide more cover for a brutal crackdown and martial law.

They are so confident in support from their base that they don't care if the majority of the people harmed by this are part of the republican base.
All they have to do is invoke one of the magic words, "Hillary, or Obama, or Biden" or the magic phrase, "failed liberal policies", and the eyes of their base glaze over and they get a "cross the streams" moment.
(with apologies to Ghost Busters)
They're willing to let millions of their own people suffer to "stick it to the libs". It always works, time after time.
Their base will never wake up to realize that the sharp stick in their eye is what's preventing them from seeing the truth.
And, even if they did see the actual truth of the moral depravity and spiritual bankruptcy of their leaders, they probably still wouldn't do anything different.
Democrats are evil, pull the lever for republicans! That's all they want to know. It's very frustrating to talk to these people.

As they say, none are so blind as those who refuse to see, and none are so deaf as those who refuse to hear.

In 2018, the last long shutdown, benefits continued. There might have been some impact in the 95 shutdown too, but nothing like this. In '95 WIC and SNAP continued making payments.

Co op today and a homeless guy with a sleeping bag wrapped around him walked in. I wondered if they would kick him out but instead a woman walked up to him and put a wad of cash in his hand so he could buy food.

I felt sorry for him because he looked confused unsure what to do with the money.
