VA-GOV: Spanberger makes campaign stops in Charlottesville as Election Day nears
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Abigail Spanbergers tour bus made pit stops in Charlottesville and Nelson County on Tuesday, just one week before Election Day.
The Democrat vying to be Virginias first female governor joined State Senator Creigh Deeds and Delegate Katrina Callsen on Charlottesvilles Downtown Mall to thank volunteers and emphasize her willingness to fight against what she calls bad policy coming from Washington, D.C.
We also need a governor who is putting Virginia first and thinking through these large challenges, working with the General Assembly to lower costs, increase housing supply, stand up for Virginia values, including here in Charlottesville at our universities, Spanberger told a crowd of campaign volunteers.
Latest polling from the Wason Center has Spanberger leading her opponent, Lieutenant Governor Winsome-Earle Sears, by 7%, down from 9% earlier in the season.
