Trump Goons Allegedly Break Ribs of Man, 67, at Kids' Party

A 67-year-old U.S. citizen allegedly suffered six broken ribs and internal bleeding when he was dragged from his car and pinned to the street by federal agents in an immigration sweep carried out in front of terrified children.

Video filmed by neighbors shows Border Patrol agents yanking him from the driver’s seat and forcing him to the ground.

Making the video public, DWRunning Club said on Instagram that the man had been driving home from a team run when he turned onto his block and found the road sealed by federal vehicles.

The clash happened on the blocked-off residential street as families gathered for a kids’ Halloween parade on Saturday. Witnesses pleaded for the agents to stop, and the man shouted, “I’ll move my car, get off of me!”

“Before he could act, they pulled him out of his car, knelt on his back… and subdued him,” the club wrote, saying the injuries required hospital treatment. The club added that the man had suffered “six broken ribs” and “internal bleeding,” and that agents “threatened to break his window” before pulling him out.

We used to wonder, we American post-war children, what happened to the German people? How could they have done what they did, how could the bystanders let it happen? There must have been something uniquely awful about them — and it would never happen here.

My late MIL used to say that, from the perspective of her family and others she knew growing up in Vienna, it was unbelievable that the Germans could change like this. They were leaders in Science, Medicine, Music, Literature, the Arts. (Sound familiar?)

Yet as the Anschluss approached, she was the one who organized passports, train tickets, and necessary papers to get her parents, her two married sisters, and their families, out of Austria and into Belgium. (I can’t remember where her brothers were at that point) Even so, few of the family survived the Nazi takeover of Belgium.

How? Why? Well, we are finding out now, aren’t we?
