I am back😀
Some parishes have been devastated but Kingston and St Andrew escaped major damage. We never lost power or water - just WiFi and cable for a couple hours.
We had tropical storm winds here.
St Elizabeth got the worst if it. Westmoreland, Trelawny, Hanover, St James (Mobay) St Ann and parts of a few other parishes . Its like a bomb hit St Elizabeth - our bread basket.

(6,099 posts)Well leave the discussion regarding the trauma for another day, For those that do not know, the trauma of going through these extreme weather events is epic. Even if you come through it without massive damage to your property, it inflicts invisible scars on your psyche. Each event adds to the trauma. It accumulates and while teaching you survival strategies, it also takes a bit of your heart and soul. You get and you give.
Please keep informing your friends here at DU about the needs of the people in Jamaica. The help theyll need is going to last for a long time. People tend to forget and move on to the next disaster. Keep reminding us not to forget that the disaster in Jamaica continues long after the cameras and satellite trucks leave.
