Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) said she is seriously weighing a bid for the U.S. Senate in Texas and has taken significant steps to bring her closer to a decision.
In an interview this week with Politicos Dasha Burns on The Conservation podcast, Crockett said she is investing heavily in polling and has already met multiple times with a prospective campaign manager.
I am seriously weighing it, to the extent that Im about to spend a lot of money to get data, Crockett said, when asked how close she is to making a decision about a potential Senate bid.
Im a data-driven person. I will tell you that I personally believe that Texas needs to do something different if they want a different result. Thats just the bottom line, she continued.

(6,820 posts)She's illustrated time and again shes not afraid to speak out on the idiots in the administration. Id love to see her approach, energy and integrity on the Senate floor. Texas does require something different, and I can't think of a better name than hers.

(1,562 posts)This would be something to see. Jasmine Crockett running in Texas would add momentum to a possible Blue Wave. And she would be a great Senator.

(8,385 posts)She faces the choice of running in a new district or running for Senate...the latter being much, much more difficult. These redistricting changes are currently being challenged in court.
