Do you think the Democrats should do this?

Come out and say they are willing to end the shut down and find the government for 1 month to make sure SNAP benefits and government employee pay continues with the expectation that in that month Republicans will come to an agreement on Obamacare subsidy funding. I’m worried that the longer this goes on the more “both sidesism” will creep in and people will just blame both parties.

3. I think that's what they're saying now, with the introduction of a bill to fund SNAP and WIC.

Their underlying condition for ending the shutdown has always been to extend permanently the Obamacare subsidies, and that hasn't changed.

6. " with the expectation that in that month Republicans will come to an agreement on Obamacare" - no, that's stupid

to hold that "expectation". In that situation, any experienced politician (or voter who's paid attention over the past decade) should expect the Republicans to screw around, yet again.

You get One shot at this. There is no way Dems will be respected to taken seriously when those expectations aren’t met and this fight is renewed.

By January 1 at the latest, Nov 21 most likely, since that is when the current CR bill expires, and the house must reconvene to draft a new one.
