And now, keying off Trump’s Canadian ad tantrum, the Wall Street Journal has mocked the president for claiming “he’s not ‘a king,’ but on tariffs he is acting like one, and without a proper delegation from Congress as the Constitution requires.”

Prime Minister Jean Chrétien has it right. Donald Trump is a grave threat to democracy who disregards the rule of law while engaging in “blackmail on a daily basis.”

Before democracy fails, there is an intermediate step that any would-be dictator like Trump must take: the dismantling of the rule of law. The supreme law in the U.S. is the Constitution. Though he swore an oath to uphold it at his inauguration, Trump has since worked assiduously to upend it.

Most journalism south of the border refers to this process as Trump’s “norm breaking.” The euphemism is wholly inadequate to describe what is really going on. Trump is not norm breaking, he is law breaking.

Why do I have to go to a Canadian site to see this laid out? Why does the American media hate America and Americans? They can't ALL be fucking threatened or paid off.

Just think if only some of this article was written/spoken in the US major mass media. It would do at least 2 things: cause the MAGA people to lose their minds and get violent, like they do. And it would reach a whole lot of non-political people in America who would be absolutely shocked.

Big Money has historically infiltrated any liberal organization with weight, meaning size of membership or strength of ideology. Acting as loyal supporters, the insidious hired turd swarms act in concert to take positions of leadership and do all they can to maintain the status quo.

When the people get angry and unify to throw the bums out, a campaign is created that sows doubt and division among the people. In Italy, for example, the government was on the verge of enacting socialism progressive policies in the 1970s, so Propaganda-Due (P-2) described in the Western press as a Masonic Lodge created as a “left-behind network” to fight the commies should the USSR overrun NATO, pretended to be part of the Leftist movement. P-2 agents planted an enormous bomb in the Bologna train station and killed 73 and injured hundreds of innocent people. In addition, P-2 kidnapped and murdered the liberal democratic Italian PM, Aldo Moro. The people voted for strong law-and-order government that respects private property, especially cash.

Now “disbanded,” P-2 exists in various forms throughout the free world. Funny thing, they always protect the interest of the wealthy and their property. Look out, Venezuela, you’re on top of their oil.

And I've seen lots of this discussion in American alternative news sites. You're comparing apples to oranges saying you have to go to Canada to get the "true story" of what's happening. Midas Touch Network, Democracy Now!, The Nation, Pro Publica, and many more are doing exactly this type of reporting.
