The inhumane embargo strategy on the Right.

What the Republicans are doing is trying to force their agenda by setting up an embargo to stop delivering the basic needs that humans require in order to survive. It's not just SNAP and Healthcare. Whereever anyone has needed support because of prejudices and discrimination, they have stepped in to stop that too. In that regard, the Republicans act more like barbarians at the gate than they do as fellow Americans.

Many of them are thrilled by what he's doing. They go from calling Trump's shitting on Americans as satire to claiming he's cleaning up government waste, and then turn a blind eye to the grifting.

So, how do you put an end to this? I started by calling it an embargo for a reason. The only way to beat them is to break the embargo until the purpose it served no longer works for them. In many ways, it's already happening. Local governments and churches are working together to feed the hungry and judges are ready to call starvation an emergency to free up the SNAP emergency funds.

I think this is going to backfire on the Republicans because everyone knows that if this strategy works for them, they will continue to use it over and over as they rip apart the safety nets, and redistributed all the wealth in this country to their cronies.

1. The Government has only one purpose - to serve the American people.

The GOP seems to think their purpose is to serve Capitalism. They have constantly attacked social programs as "Socialism" or "Communism". Calling everything that helps people "welfare".

They have no problem subsidizing business with our money or awarding contracts to their contributors - all of which is paid for with our money.

This is an example of the attitudes in today's administration....

USDA Secretary Calls Food Stamps Program 'Extremely Corrupt,' Not Going To 'Truly Needy'

Brooke Rollins, Trump's cabinet secretary in charge of food benefits, launched a fierce attack on the “extremely corrupt program,” arguing “so many people are taking advantage" of it.

Rollins said a “sliver lining” of the looming cliff edge was the chance to have a “national conversation on our SNAP program.”

"The problem is you have an extremely corrupt program,” she said. “But up until this administration, and with President Trump's direct focus on this and making sure every taxpayer dollar is spent appropriately, we've never really had the opportunity to dig in.”

She went on to suggest food benefits would be reformed “to take that program back to its original intent of helping those who are truly needy,” and to avoid having “a massive welfare benefit where so many people are taking advantage of it that shouldn't be.”
