This is interesting.....in a city close to me, population of 51,000 most blame the Democrats for the shutdown.

30 days into the government shutdown, who's to blame?

39.0% Democrats

33.8% Republicans

27.3% President Trump

Was a poll on our local TV station.

The Republicans and Trump are one and the same. So most people blame the other side, not the Democrats. According to Walleye Oct 2025 #1

The poll. I don’t know how they can blame the Republicans and not blame Trump and vice versa.

This is push-polling 101.

This makes the absurd assumption that Trump and the Republicans are not in fact the same thing, and consequently forces respondents to split the result. I read this as 40% blame the Democrats, and 60% blame Trump and his party, which makes much more sense, BUT this also can be read as the Democrats are more at fault than the Republicans if you then ignore the Trump component.

No reputable pollster would make these kinds of amateurish mistakes, but it seems par for the course with the Fox News crowd.

If this isn't just some BS clickbait, a majority (51.1) blame the Republicans or the Dollar Store Antichrist.
