re:boat bombings, Asha Rangappa - Even for 9/11 lethal strikes were authorized only for "senior operational members"

Also: Even in the context of 9/11 and with the imprimatur of the 2001 AUMF, lethal strikes were authorized only for “senior operational members” of al Qaeda and associated forces

None of those boats were smuggling anything into the United States. I looked back at the news coverage of the attacks, and I did not see a single boat that would have been capable of reaching the United States of America. Not enough fuel on board and just flat too small crafts to make those trips. it's roughly 2000 miles from offshore Venezuela to offshore Florida. Over twice that far from Argentina waters. Ridiculous claim.

Trump is ordering the destruction of boats and crews for publicity. He's not attacking "narco-terrorists." Sadly, there is no real way to investigate those incidents after they have happened.

Ugly business, indeed.
