2. I submit that Rachel Maddow's podcast, as but one example, uses investigative practices.

I would prefer having podcasts at that level than Fox News, OAN, NewsMax, etc.

I think you my be over-generalizing based on the medium and not the content.

3. For some folks, podcasts are where they get news. Most podcasters have click-bait headlines that aren't even discussed

in the podcasters. And podcasters seem to have no problem stretching/distorting truth for viewers.

6. Depends on what podcasts you listen to

The BBC Global News comes from their news division. Perfectly reasonable source.

There's always been a push towards hyperbole to get attention. Rachel Maddow does it frequently. Not my thing, so I stopped listening. Sci Fri puts their show out as a podcast. The New Yorker puts out a political podcast.

8. Heavens. Podcasts are not unlike books-- Some are educating, enlightening, informing, and thought-provoking...

-while others... are clearly NOT.

One has to be discriminating in terms of the author/podcaster, their credibility, their guests (if any), and the content. But there are tons available that will meet my prior criteria. I listen to them frequently while walking or commuting. Not just politically-based, as I like history and other topics as well.

That said, if you have a short attention span and get bored quickly (as I do), you can change the speed of the content or skip ahead--something important to do for those with interminable ads.

Some are great, some are horrendous.

You just need to find the ones that are good and speak for you.

MSM whitewashes everything. They suck! Podcasts give more info, answers real questions and are not the lap dogs of corporate bosses.
