Mine is on the lower end so far. Very windy here.
It seems we get less and less since Covid. I think my neighborhood is also aging, so, not as many kids as years gone by.

Halloween isn't for everyone. I know many people who feel uncomfortable about it. I don't think it makes you a grinch.

(2,922 posts)If so, good for you. I miss those days.
I always think of Halloween as the official start of hot cocoa weather.

(2,922 posts)I've noticed that more and more older people don't participate. Candy is expensive.

(1,667 posts)It was fun to celebrate with the neighborhood kids, but they're all grown up and gone now
Edit: yes, even at costco, Candy is very expensive

(1,919 posts)In some Northeastern cities around the Great Lakes, trick-or-treating happens on the night of October 30th. Most call it Devils Night. Here its called Beggars Night. I live in a neighborhood that has a long established tradition of people creating haunted backyards and ghostly garages that attracts families from outside the area. We do a candy count and we gave out 367 Reeses, Kit-Kats, Butterfingers, M&Ms, Tootsie Pops, and Milk Duds. Its been like this for many years. We always look forward to Beggars Night. 👻
