Norah O'Donnell interviewed him today.
She was often fairly critical of him when she anchored the evening news, but it's unlikely he'd've agreed to this unless promised it would be obsequious.

(12,412 posts)trump run with the deranged BS. She doesnt have to call him stupid, a Nazi, etc., when they show him doing stupid, hateful stuff. Unfortunately, 40 to 50% of voters wont care.

(17,498 posts)CBS lost their chance with me when they shoved their head up Donnie Dipshits ass to retrieve a Paramount merger with their teeth and put Eva Braun in charge of their news division.

(20,855 posts)This will be a fluff ball interview masquerading as objective fact based journalism. Theres literally no chance Bari Weiss will permit hard questions to be asked.

(61,093 posts)As others said, any open ended question leads to his rambling, illogical and sometimes crazy answers. Any question about immigrants, ICE etc shows how far from normal American values he is
I simply can't imagine an hour long interview where he doesn't go off the rails. The problem is that the slightest misstatement by Biden was turned into a BIG problem. Trump speaking of capturing the airports as why we won the revolutionary war was only made a joke and many refused to believe it.
Just as I have not really heard anyone point out that Biden has been coherent and thoughtful in comments since leaving the White House. Many articles on the Comer report fail to mention that the idea that Biden was not capable of being President has never been proven. His stepping down from his reelection campaign absolutely is not proof of that.

(792 posts)Im in agreement with the rest of your reply though. I cant imagine the administration not making sure they have control over the final edit. I would think a one hour live interview would be a problem for this administration no matter what the questions were as you have said. Im more worried how much CBS will make 60 minutes bend to get in front of the line to takeover Warner/Discovery/HBO/CNN. I have a hard time thinking that CBS and its news head, Bari Weiss, or Paramount Skydances CEO, David Ellison, dont know which side their possible merger toast is buttered, even ignoring their past politics.

(20,855 posts)Thats a short ride. But it wont come from any pressing questions Bari Weiss 60 Minutes is going to be asking. Itll be a softball interview. But youre right. It doesnt take much to set him off.

(12,412 posts)showing trump before gilded decor -- is perfect for an interview while people are starving.
Don't think this interview will help trump, but will have to see.
"O'Donnell's wide-ranging conversation with Mr. Trump touched on Chinese President Xi Jinping, Venezuela, Israel, the government shutdown, immigration and the National Guard."

(12,412 posts)interview will not improve trump's standing among that group. Might be a push, but can't see how the optics will be good if they discuss any in the quote.
And that's the group I'm concerned about because if we can't convert a few percent of those, we'll keep losing.
Honestly, I doubt I'll watch either, prefering to play my big mandola. But don't think it will be bad overall.

(29,209 posts)it's just a waste of time at this point. I will of course stay informed, support progressives, call my Congresspeople, and all the rest, but I think these interviews accomplish nothing..unless of course he drops dead on the set. Then I'll be sorry I missed it..
People will understand when someone they know and/or love disappears then maybe they'll get it.

They gave trmp $16 Million for a bullshit lawsuit. Claimed they edited an interview with Kamala Harris.
Now they are giving him this time 2 days before an election.

(103,806 posts)Stand to watch it, keep an eye on how the right side of his mouth moves, he's had a stroke and they are trying to keep the droopy side of his face plumped up and for some reason he's always putting the right side toward the camera.
His mouth is drooping on the right and when he talks you can see.

I'm telling you, the Democrats should make this their motto: MAKE LYING WRONG AGAIN!! If fits on a bumper sticker, and there is policy that Democrats can promise if they are elected:
Pass a Law that Requires Every Elected or Appointed Government Employee to Only Speak the Truth WHENEVER they are speaking to the public in their respective positions as if they were (and they are) Under Oath.
MAKE LYING ILLEGAL FROM GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES.
Is that too hard? (It shouldn't be. It should be what We The People Expect.

(151,540 posts)By consenting to this interview of Trump, Norah O'donnell is doing the same.
John Dickerson, the current CBS co-anchor on the evening news, has announced that he is leaving CBS at the end of the year.
By their actions will you know them.
