And love to scold that we should just endure and how they can’t understand cutting off MAGAts.

Personally, I can hardly bear a single special event with these folks, let alone a sustained intimate relationship. The MAGAts in my life are cruel and bitter and if they’re into Joe Rogan and Newsmax, they’re thoroughly brainwashed 😞

We had many discussions about politics while we were dating. I couldn't be married to a conservative, mainly because I could never trust their judgement.

I guess if there was a change once you were married it would be different. It would certainly be complicated.

Sometimes the people so infected become vile and hateful. Apparently he did.
I don't think there should be hard and fast rules, but in the case of people who have become militantly toxic, breaking off the relationship is the only thing you can do to protect yourself.

But not all Trump supporters do become toxic and hateful. My two sons and their wives voted for Trump. Twice. They fell down the well of disinformation.Between them, we have ten grandchildren. We will never break off our relationship with our kids and grandkids, and fortunately our sons are loving men and good fathers, not toxic people. In our case we are able to agree to disagree and keep loving one another. But it's not possible for all relationships.

Serious question, and I promise I’m not being snarky. How do your sons manifest goodness and kindness while supporting the transparent fascist violence and destruction of democracy trump is visiting upon America? I honestly want to know.

I don't know that they actually know or understand what Trump is visiting upon America. They live in information bubbles that I believe keep them blinded to the truth of what is happening.

As for goodness and kindness, both are helpful, generous, thoughtful, and converse without the anger, ugliness, and judgment of too many MAGA. Both are college grads, one has an MBA. Our younger son, for instance, spent vacation time for a few years making multiple trips to New Orleans as a volunteer to help with cleanup and repair after Katrina.

Women deserve better. We’re tired of being disrespected.
The right wing broadcasters create a toxic environment we don’t want to live in.
