(18,192 posts)It was close, but the runner was forced out.

(28,709 posts)The runner touched the edge of the plate before the catchers foot came back down. But there was no way the umpires and Major league baseball would give somebody the World Series based on that play. So of course they called him out. Its OK Toronto made us here in Philadelphia look like assholes in 93 after an terrific season -we deserved to lose, dont get me wrong - and basically gave it away to the Dodgers by not being able to score a run when given the opportunity several times. It shouldnt have been that close. Congrats to the fucking Dodgers and their asshole ownership.

(28,709 posts)Catchers foot, more specifically, his heel was elevated from the plate as the runner touched the plate, the left side of the plate, the catchers foot is still elevated. When his touch was in the middle of the plate, yes, the catchers foot was down, but you dont have to touch the body of the plate just the edge, and he most certainly had. As I said, its OK because neither of these teams do I particularly care about If it were my team, though, I would be beyond livid.
