T-shirts covered in fake blood and bearing the words Problem Solved have sent outrage through the Cienega High School community after a group of math teachers wore the matching garb to class as Halloween costumes.
Some parents contended in social media posts that the shirts were a reference to the Sept. 10 killing of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, who was shot in the left side of his neck in front of a crowd of supporters in Utah.
The shirts, blood-soaked down the left side, drew the attention of angry residents who found the costumes distasteful and political in nature, according to posts showing the group of teachers posing together in the outfits.
But Vail School District Superintendent John Carruth said the shirts, available for purchase all over the web, were bought and worn last year as well, long before Kirks death.

Of course on Twitter, theyre busy little beavers doing everything they can to dox the teachers.
I saw some reviews on Amazon. that were at least a year old, but that doesnt matter to the MAGA faithful.

(5,590 posts)These shirts seem unnecessarily provocative, given the enormous number of school shootings. I could give a shit what magats think, but I personally might have thought twice about wearing bloody shirts around school kids.

I say this as someone that has dressed in provocative Halloween costumes myself, but as an adult and at a Halloween party.

(4,878 posts)being accosted by blood clothed people in a place where they have to go by law and have a chance of being shot on any given day. I hope you can see the difference. Not everybody does blood and gore. Especially young people with their own anxieties and PTSD.

All those dead school children were 'worth' it to Charlie.

(4,878 posts)Should sit down and take it. If they cant see a little blood, fake or real, their teachers, or their own while sitting in a building they themselves could be shot some day in then they should get the f over the humor anyone else sees in bloodied costumes.

(85,349 posts)It's in poor taste at minimum. It seems more like a message than a Halloween costume.

(14,075 posts)As well they should. I didn't see anything that indicated one of the teachers explaining what the shirt meant. It could be that it's just stupid. Or it could be five stupid people being led into a stupid act by one worthless jerk. That's what happens a lot.
I think a responsible school administrator would definitely call each teacher in and ask them what was meant by "Problem Solved." If it's political at all, even if it's not about Charlie Kirk, it's probably a firing offense.

(77,267 posts)...your opinion about this not belonging in school, I read this differently.
Given the tie in to Halloween, I think this was a horror bit.
"Somebody is a problem? Do the slasher solution."
So, I think it's not at all political. Just in very bad taste.
They are wearing halloween themed math shirts, which requires the solving of problems.
