(13,736 posts)I love the Blue Jays. Bought a Blue Jays baseball cap in the early 80's and wore it when I played on a softball team.
I wanted them to win, but was okay with the Dodgers, too because I live in L.A. Love the diversity here, and how happy everyone is now.

(5,244 posts)and recently read stories that said they never had,
but have also read numerous 'news stories' lately
that stated basic facts wrong, particularly about dates.... really poor editing...

(5,244 posts)and as previously stated, I was not paying any attention to baseball over those years---
possibly because the Detroit Tigers were not in the mix...
At least it wasn't the New York Yankees.......

(2,173 posts)Hasn't won a World Series since 1948. That's tough for me being from Cleveland originally.
And the Browns have never been to a Super Bowl.

Yay Dodgers.
On edit: They shoot them down into our neighborhoods and drive up and down our streets throwing them out of cars. Assholes.

Gotta say, however, that the Bluejays are a damn fine team.

(13,736 posts)When we left the restaurant it was tied in the bottom of the 9th inning.
As we walked along, we could see baseball uniforms in many homes on large tvs, so I knew it was in overtime.
The drive home was like the COVID days: huge boulevards were dead empty. Two or three cars sitting at a stoplight, with no cars going by in the cross-traffic.
Minutes after we got home, our neighborhood was bombarded with distant hoots followed by dozens and dozens of fireworks.

(6,674 posts)It wasn't easy. My family were/are Reds fans, and all I ever heard growing up was how much they hated the Dodgers, so I started thinking that maybe I should check out this Dodgers team.
I'm more a Tigers fan these days, but I still want the Dodgers to do well, so I celebrate this victory. And, I know that yet another Dodger championship is absolutely killing my family right now
