Governor Newsom in San Diego ahead of Election Day to speak in support of Prop 50

SAN DIEGO — Governor Gavin Newsom visited San Diego Sunday to kick off the Proposition 50 "Get Out the Vote" movement ahead of Tuesday's special election.

The map defined in Proposition 50 is a Democratic gerrymander intended to offset the gerrymander by Texas Republicans.

"It's not about being a Democrat, or Republican or an Independent. It's about being an American and what defines the game played here in the United States, versus every other system of governance," Newsom said.

As support for the measure remains strongly in the lead, Newsom addressed San Diego United Domestic Workers of America (UDW) union members.
