New health insurance premium cost check-in -- mine went up 43%.

And I'm a single person, so I can't imagine what bigger families are going to be dealing with...

2025 cost: $418.46/month
2026 cost: $597.45/month

$178.99/month increase, meaning an increase of 43%...

EDIT: I am on an Affordable Care Act/healthcare exchange health insurance plan.

Thank you. Also, what's crazy is that I don't even receive much (if any) of a subsidy... W_HAMILTON Nov 2025 #6

...meaning that increase was mostly due strictly to premium increases, which were expected to be higher than normal to make up for the decrease in subsidies and expected loss of those being able to afford health insurance that would result.

In short, if someone WAS receiving subsidies, not only would they be hit with the decrease in subsidies (which Democrats are fighting to get re-established), but they will ALSO get hit by the unusual increase in premiums as a result of the expected decrease in subsidies -- so, in actuality, they are getting hit twice!
