Pete Buttigieg has it all.

On the one hand we've got the NYT editorializing that the Democratic party has to move to the center.

On the other hand we've got persuasive talking heads pointing out that we can't ignore where the energy is, on the left.

Pete Buttigieg is one of the most level-headed, common-sensical politicians I can think of. Check the center box. But he's gay. Just by being he checks the left box.

I think we've past the time quite a while ago where being gay was fatal in national politics. I think it's pretty much the die-hard bigots, who will never change, who still count that as a deal breaker.

What do you all think?

Will vote for LGBTQ. Last year, we found out that there are some who still won’t vote for a woman. I’d like to think otherwise, but I’m not sure of how many undeclared homophobes there are in our party.

Smart, very smart, personable, able and willing to go anywhere and talk to anyone, hostile or not.

He's quick on his feet and apparently is not threatened by hostile questions. He also learns quickly.

Of course, I may be biased. I did work for him when he ran for president back in 2019-20. I even got to meet him and Chasten.

7. He fits in with the "left" simply because he's gay?

Might want to check your assumptions.

16. I'm not saying he's left himself. I'm saying the left would be behind electing a gay person. nt

Twice on Sunday. The bigots who wouldn't vote for him won't vote Democrat who ever runs.

I wish she had been brave! A lot of young people sat out last year.

The Dems are conservative by European standards.
The GOP has moved to the far Right.
The Times wants the Dems to be Republicans.

I think Pete is the smartest guy in the room and I think we're going to have a change year in 2028. I wish Kamala had been brave in 2024 and chosen him.
