I'm sure many of you have come to this same conclusion

That hit me about a month ago.

The very simple reason, and it is quite simple, why the orange asshole won’t approve the release of funds to snap, regardless of a court order or fund anything for that matter is: he thinks the money is his.

As with everything, for example: the White House. He thinks that’s his too.

So when he does anything that’s so completely fucked up and disgraceful regarding American institutions, landmarks or anything for that matter, it’s all because he thinks it’s his.

I know this defies rational thought but we are also dealing with a grossly irrational person

Maybe speculation about who has reincarnated as Trump does not reach back far enough in time. Although I don’t think the historical record indicates that Louis XIV was a blithering moron.

I completely agree with you, but why did this "hit you" about a month ago, as opposed to eight years ago?

Trump has always made it completely obvious who he is: a pathological narcissist, only interest in himself and his self-gratification. From the beginning. It was OBVIOUS to anyone paying attention, and was underscored repeatedly in his first term of office. Wasn't it made clear when he kept insisting, against any credible evidence, that the next election was stolen? This DOESN''T defy rational thought when you realize that you're dealing with a psychopath. It makes perfect sense.

To him, the treasury is literally his money. I had some examples. The way he talks about the illegal impoundments. The way he talks about "all that Tariff money." He is absolutely talking like the U.S. Treasury is his personal piggy bank.

Every once in awhile he catches himself and adds some comment about all that treasury money making America strong, but it is absolutely an after thought. The rest of the time, It's his. Period.

His to withhold.

His to hand out in expensive deals on AI that are more likely to do harm than good (e.g., Unnamed AI companies are going to be managing the Medicare pre-authorization process they are "piloting" in six states. And guess what? The AI companies get a cut of the "savings" from denials. Wonder how that will work out.)

His to "save."

His to spend as he pleases.

His. All his.

Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if, when he is booted out in an impeachment or voted out, in addition to the billions he has amassed in corrupt dealings, he'll somehow manage to get his fat little hands on some gold bullion from Ft Knox (a la the Marco family).

Thinking the EXACT same thing, any monies he saves from gutting agencies etc, he pockets. So far the most alarming things for me are troops in the streets, tearing down the East Wing and blowing up boats. There will be more shit from this monster every day.

That a man would be elected that believed that he owns the government and its institutions, and civic duty for him means enriching himself and his family.

What’s even more pathetic is that all of the checks and balances in place have also failed spectacularly. The other two branches just became a check, but without any balance, thanks to a party so craven and corrupt.
