https://dissentinbloom.substack.com/p/america-killed-fishermen-and-called?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email&triedRedirect=trueFifty-seven people are dead. The Pentagon says 'narco-terrorists'. Their families say fishermen.

Families watched as they went to sea and never came back. There has been no trial, no evidence presented to the public, and no official list of the dead. The only notification being social media posts by U.S. officials bragging about the strikes.
These are men who lived in coastal towns that have been devastated by years of sanctions and foreign interference. Fishing was how they survived, how they fed their children, how they built their futures. Its something they did. Its something their fathers did.
They left in the early morning, like they always did, chasing fish and a paycheck. Some waved to their children. Some packed a meal. Not one of them knew they wouldnt be coming back.

Article includes pics of some of the fishermen killed in the first strike

(18,605 posts)You can tell Trump enjoys having the power to kill others with total impunity, I'm afraid he isn't going to stop with just a few dozen fishermen.

(32,354 posts)If there was genuine evidence that those boatmen were something other than innocent fisherman, we would have known it by now. Beyond shameful. I hope international tribunals ultimately deal with this, in no uncertain terms.

(5,068 posts)Maybe I am just missing the coverage. I am sure we are using some ridiculously over the top amount of force to take these out but still. Even if they are drug boats, this seems to be illegal use of military force under international law. What does it take to start a war crimes investigation at the ICC?
