He's 80. Of course everything is an emergency
The U.S. is in the grip of the 80 year old, elderly tyrant hellbent on affecting every aspect of American life before his end. No time to build. No interest anyway. All is destruction and madcap mutilations of our American story, history, civic norms, and all traces of the American civilization. This includes his breathless rampage of tariffs, crushing Americans, which is a basically a video game for Trump to play as he runs around the world like a demented Santa leaving coal or gold, depending on his mood. It all has to be done now and at fever pitch.
