My wife warned me not to watch. As usual, she was right.
Like many of you, I tuned in to watch Norah ODonnell interview Donald Trump on 60 Minutes. Over the span of 40 minutes, I sat in disbelief as Trump was asked a series of softball questions with little follow-up.
Having been featured on the broadcast, I knew the editing process would shorten answers, but in this case, it seemed calculated to make an incoherent old man appear clearer and more reasonable. I was certain they had removed all the moments when ODonnell corrected Trumps misstatements and lies.
I was wrong. When I read the full transcript of the interview, I realized there had been no pushback, no corrections, no challenging follow-ups. The entire interview had been an open-ended opportunity for Trump to tell rambling lies, only to have them cleaned up into a more polished product.

(5,866 posts)I haven't watched the whole thing. - only seen clips. But I hear he had meltdown that was left out of the 73 minute long version (which is available online), but appears in the official transcript which is available on CBS website.

(81,242 posts)I believe Epstein and other sex/drug rings have been working
at the highest levels in the US banking, media, political, congress, judges,
entertainment arenas for decades. The code of silence is far reaching.
Putin is running a sex/drug ring too.
It may have been connected to Epstein.

since 2015.

(81,242 posts)I don't know exactly when Putin started the program.
He has been ensnaring high level officials from democratic countries.
Officials from many fields.
For quite some time.

name Krasnov and fixed it so he could get out of debt.
I'm sure the kompromat involves more that that, but
it's all pretty heavy.

(81,242 posts)1. In 2008, at a real estate conference, Donald Trump Jr. said:
"In terms of high-end product influx into the US, Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets; say in Dubai, and certainly with our project in SoHo and anywhere in New York. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia".
So we see that early the money was pouring in from Russia.
US banks were done with the Trump Crime Family.
2. Eric Trump's Alleged Comment
Golf writer James Dodson recounted a 2014 conversation with Eric Trump. According to Dodson, when asked how the family was funding golf course developments during the recession when U.S. banks were not lending, Eric Trump said: "We don't rely on American banks. We have all the funding we need out of Russia".
Eric later denied making the statement.
3. Then of course we have the coincidental fact that Trump's first and third wives were immigrants from Soviet bloc countries.

(3,702 posts)that led to them falling out in 2002, that his thought on how Trump could've come up with the $40M at that time (because he was very deep in the hole at the time after string of business failures and nobody would loan him cash) was from the Russians. And sure enough a Russian bought the property off him around 2008 IIRC. For a ridiculously huge profit based on the market at the time, which was of course absolute shit. And Epstein was pissed that Trump 'stole' that property by out-bidding Epstein at auction, even though Epstein is the one that told him about it, asked him to just come along and see it as a friend who knows real estate and advice him, then snaked it from him.
This is why, when I think of the infamous birthday card came only a year earlier, I see it as very possible what it *really* was is an attempt at blackmail, because Epstein knew what he was up to, laundering Russian money. The card was a "you keep my secrets, I'll keep yours" type of thing. One thing Trump is actually good at is crime-ing. I don't think he would've made the mistake of sending that card if *he* was involved in Epstein's illegal things with minors. But he would blackmail somebody like that, to save his own ass, in a NY minute.
