JD Vance's pro segregation remark: "'I want to live next to people who I have something in common with"

Said oct 29th on a podcast

When discussing the Haitian population in Springfield, he noted that some landlords were charging more money so multiple families could stay in an apartment meant for fewer people, which drives up costs for everyone else. I often heard that complaint when doing some reporting for another outlet. But instead of stopping there, he went much further.

“It is totally reasonable and acceptable for American citizens to look at their next-door neighbors and say, ‘I want to live next to people who I have something in common with. I don’t want to live next to four or five families of strangers.”

He also said some in the neighborhood might think, “Wait a second. What is going on here? I don't know these people. They don't speak the same language that I do."

America's new policy is segregation. JD Vance said as much. | Opinion https://www.dispatch.com/story/opinion/columns/guest/2025/11/01/jd-vance-new-york-post-podcast-segregation/86990034007/

NO matter what they say or tell themselves it is racism, our and simple.
Racist, Sexist, Bigots.....GO AWAY.

They are angry because they self segregated away from the "Brown" cities into the "Heartland".
Then what happened?

They could not get away from the fact that most of America evolved away from THEM.
Suddenly they could not get away from the AA people on TV or in movies. They could not get away from the gay characters kisses and expressing natural affection on TV and in the movies. It drove them CRAZY.

They could not self segregate from their entertainment and it made them NUTS!

The future is moving away from THEM.
EVOLVE damn it!

And while sure it's understandable why a woman, minority, or LGBTQ+ person might leave a state that's looking to do away with their rights, at the same time doing so makes those states that much more likely to regress. I say this knowing I'm not planning on leaving Massachusetts for anywhere that votes Republican so I'm a part of the problem I just described (and more so because I'm a cishet white guy who doesn't have to worry about my rights being voted away).

With all the talk about wanting his wife to convert she will still be a non white woman . The people of Haiti being Christians doesn't make him see them as people he has something in common with and he still dehumanizes them.

Nor would they want you for a neighbor.

When living in Rochester, I had a neighbor for whom I had NOTHING in common with and he is a WHITE man! His TRUMP 2020 flag flew from his house for well over a year after the election before he finally took it down. He despised my late husband and I because we did not think like he did.

End of story.
