O'DONNELL: So not concerned about the appearance of corruption with this?
TRUMP: I can't say, because I can't say I'm not concerned. I don't I'd rather not have you ask the question. But I let you ask it. You just came to me and you said, "Can I ask another question?" And I said, yeah. This is the question
O'DONNELL: And you answered
TRUMP: I don't mind. Did I let you do it? I coulda walked away. I didn't have to answer this question. I'm proud to answer the question. You know why? We've taken crypto
O'DONNELL: But just generally speak
TRUMP: Excuse me. We're number one in crypto in the whole world. Other people wanna be. They're fighting like hell to be. But we're number one in crypto because I'm the president. Biden wanted to also, at the very end, you know, he totally switched his thing.
You know, Biden was totally in favor of crypto at the end. Do you know that many people that were indicted under Biden for crypto, at the very end before the election, were let go? You know why? He wanted the vote. We are number one in crypto and that's the only thing I care about. I don't want China or anybody else to take it away. It's a massive industry.
O'DONNELL: Mr. President, thank you.

Dems float FCC probe of "60 Minutes" trimming Trump interview
What was omitted: The video cut O'Donnell's final question: "So not concerned about the appearance of corruption with this?"
Also omitted was Trump's stammering reply: "I can't say, because I can't say I'm not concerned. I don't I'd rather not have you ask the question."
"60 Minutes paid me a lotta money," he said at one point. "And you don't have to put this on, because I don't wanna embarrass you, and I'm sure you're not you have a great I think you have a great, new leader," seemingly in reference to editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.

(19,282 posts)Or is Trump referring to the $16 million CBS paid him in July 2025 to settle a lawsuit over the editing of a "60 Minutes" interview with Kamala Harris? (The settlement many thought was a bribe to facilitate approval of the pending merger with Skydance Media.)

(56,259 posts)Right wing billionaires have corrupted the media bit by bit over the last 45 years or so. Donnie corrupted cbs and 60 minutes overtly by suing them basically as a shakedown for merger approval.
Generally, in business, when someone sues you, and especially if they win at least a settlement, you stop doing business either them. It's just bad business.
In the case of media outlets, if they don't get sued again, it looks like the litigious person was happy with the result, so it looks like your coverage was biased in favor of the litigious person in order to avoid another lawsuit.
It was a no-win situation for 60 minutes, either they get sued again or they give the appearance of having been corrupted.
They apparently chose the latter, although I suppose it's still possible Donnie may sue, who knows.
