My Encounter with Dick Cheney -- Nov 22, 2013

I am walking to my gate at LaGuardia airport around 11:50AM. I see a guy in a white cowboy hat and it seems unnatural on him. I get closer.

Then I see a guy with a Glock on his hip. What the heck..?! Oh, it's a bodyguard and the dude is Iraq War architect Dick Cheney.

Two women step to him and ask to take a selfie. I can't tell if they actually like him or not. They get their picture and move on.

It is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK. All the TVs are showing the live feed from Dealey Plaza, counting down to the exact time the four shots were fired. The ceremony asks for a moment of silence and a relative hush falls over the terminal. Except for one voice.

Sounding like the Penguin from the 1960s Batman TV show, Dick Cheney talks through the whole thing.

He was there to meet his daughter's inbound flight.

…had not come from a Democrat, as I would have thought that a waste of a good organ that should have gone to someone more deserving.
