https://decodingfoxnews.substack.com/p/trump-cbs-interview-what-was-andThis past Sunday CBS aired an interview with President Donald J. Trump on 60 Minutes. The condensed edit that aired during the news program was only 28 minutes long with some additional material available on 60 Minutes Overtime.
The network also published a transcript of the full-length un-edited interview which was 78 minutes long.
I went through both versions and tried to expand upon sections that CBS cut to show how the presidents words were shaped for the broadcast.
In the sections labeled
NOT TELEVISED
The dialog is formatted as a block quote which should include a blue vertical line on the left side of the text.
CBS used voiceovers throughout the interview to transition from one topic to the next. I've formatted that text in italics to differentiate it from the dialog. I did not include the introduction at the start of the program ODonnells statement right before the commercial break.
In some cases it was obvious that producers just wanted to shorten Trumps long-winded rants due to time constraints. In other instances CBS removed references to their own network.

(18,605 posts)1. Kamala Harris should sue CBS, Bari Weiss and '60 Minutes' for editing Trump's interview.
Maybe Weiss and her corporate paymasters will settle for the same $16 million Trump got when he sued CBS for editing Kamala's '60 Minutes' interview? Considering all of Trump's lies about Biden left in the "interview," and not edited or corrected by '60 Minutes,' Joe can probably be a joint plaintiff in the civil action.

(12,412 posts)2. Well, after editing out 62 minutes, it was still a damning interview, assuming anyone actually watched it. Most didn't.

Sunday was the straw on the back for us and it's not on our schedule anymore. Maybe they can redeem themselves, but for the time being, they've become a for-profit, Publicly Licensed Sealion.
