A couple years ago one of my younger friends, then in her 30s, came to visit for a couple days and we somehow got into a conversation about what was wildly risque back when I was a teenager. I guess it was something we saw on a video that referred to what was allowed on the teevee back in the mid to late 1960s.
I decided to search Laugh-in and Smothers Brothers to show her the shows that broke the mold back then. I found the pilots for both shows and we watched them.
She was amazed, we laughed our asses off, too. And I discovered a way to illustrate some of the cultural transition of those times to younger generations.
