2. I have a flight on Christmas day

And now I am thinking my day will be spent in the airport after pilots and controllers call in sick.

I picked flying on the holiday because flight was $200 less. Retired here. If there are no storms and snow I can drive over the pass just don't like to in winter.

after a month in Europe. We were very concerned about delays because of the shutdown. Fortunately for us, we had no problems.

5. I came home two weeks ago from London

to Raleigh/Durham on a direct flight. No problem. It's the connecting flights that are hit or miss, mostly delayed.

6. It will just get worse

I was lucky. Flew from San Francisco to New York and back with no delays going through security or departure. But I don’t see that holding.

TSA in San Francisco is private so security isn’t affected by the shutdown. Can’t imagine how much longer the air traffic controllers will put up with this shit, though.
