🚨 TODAY IS ELECTION DAY! 🚨 Election Calendar, Activists' Lists, and Donation Links

(Please let me know if there are any broken links or incorrect or incomplete information. I’ll be adding and correcting information through Election Day.)

TODAY: I strongly urge you to submit IN-PERSON or via drop-box, to be sure your forms are delivered on time.

A caveat: ActBlue keeps a small percentage of your donation. So if you want a candidate or entity to have all of your donation, write a check to the candidate directly.

Also: in Arizona you’re required to provide a birth certificate (or passport) in order to register to vote in state elections, so if that affects you, be sure to act on it early. hlthe2b’s thread about how doing so can be quite costly!

California Proposition 50:

Extreme gerrymandering in states like Texas is silencing communities and undermining the people's right to vote!
California has the chance to lead with Prop 50 – the Election Rigging Response Act.
With Prop 50, we can break the cycle of entrenched power and elect new leaders—especially women—who will fight for families and fairness nationwide.

Not much exciting here. Voted straight Democratic (even when it meant voting for no one) with one exception. Our local mayor's race had two Republican candidates. I picked the lesser of the evils to vote for, since the race is non-partisan unless they get enough candidates to hold a primary. They didn't. So we had the choice between two Republicans - the owner of a local gun shop and the owner of a local restaurant. Since there was no option for Democratic candidate, I figured I'd vote for the local business owner who feeds people, rather than the one who provides guns that (can be used to) kill people.

although there were city councilmen and an "at large" education member position. I still did all the homework I usually do when coming up on a major election. And I told hubby and grandson that today, it's not just who we do or don't vote for... it's the actual act of voting, itself, that's the issue. In today's America, the very act of voting can be seen as a righteous rebellious act against this administration. It's a protest against trump trying to rig and take away the elections. And I proudly voted AND wore my "I Voted" sticker everywhere I went afterwards. I also didn't mince words when I heard the occasional "there's an election today?" remark.
