I had really wanted my first Presidential vote to be for him. Sadly, that was not to be. I voted for Simon in the primary and Dukakis in the general instead. Cuomo was such an inspirational speaker and a great governor. And to see his son, and the campaign he has run, poor Mario must be spinning in his grave. To say he has fallen far from the tree is a massive understatement. I can accept political differences, and while my preference on issues is with Mamdani, I understand having issues with a thin resume, his position on Israel and the Palestinians, and any relationship with Ugandans but the campaign Cuomo is running is despicable. He is doing vastly more than flirting with Islamaphobia and racism. I hope he loses hugely. He richly deserves to do so.

Still, he was a pretty good governor.

my husband and I spent a weekend in New York City and I was walking along Park Avenue when two women yelled "There's Tom Cruise" and they were right (I m not a fan) but standing at the light was Mario Cuomo (I was a fan)...
