If/when SCOTUS strikes down Krasvov's tariffs

anyone expecting prices will go down to where they were before will be very disappointed. Just like in the supply chain crisis, businesses will use it as an excuse to fatten margins. Prices go up very quickly,;going down - not so much.

The 'Trump Tariffs' have done permanent damage to the American economy and we all are paying the price.

First, I suspect that should SCOTUS rule against him (no sure thing), Trump may very well continue issuing tariffs under executive orders, ruling be damned - what are they going to do about it. Tariffs are typical of his style: bullying others when they have no alternatives. Seriously he has no other tricks in his book. The problem with bullying occurs when you run into someone who takes you to the mat, at which point you have to get others to provide retribution for you or be seen as being weak.

However, IF the tariffs do end, I don't expect things to change much, because now there's uncertainty - what if TFG turns on you as a business or a country. So, no, I don't see things suddenly improving. The tariffs will continue until he leaves office, one way or another.

With a tariff-inflated price tag? I can’t imagine the importer would eat the cost of the tariff on those existing goods and sell at a tariff free price. Prices will come down, but very slowly unless a new importer jumps into the market to undercut.

... and the tariffs fees are refunded, there will be a huge deficit.

The tariffs were supposed to increase federal revenue to make up for the tax cuts for the wealthy.

Oops.

That means even more "discretionary" spending cuts.

Goodbye Medicare, Goodbye Social Security, Goodbye VA.

It could be Grover Norquist's wet dream.

And Medicare and Social Security are funded through different means, not dependent on tariff monies.

Other than the general premise that federal revenue will be decreased as a result, everything else in your post is very theoretical. And don't forget that the GOP controls Congress, and at most, the power to levy tariffs will (rightfully) return to Congress.

Even though it's GOP-controlled ATM, I still trust Congress to be more deliberative than Trump will ever be when it comes to which tariffs to levy.

Also, no matter what scary-sounding consequences one can conjure up, when a literal, practical option involves "stopping Trump from being a fucking dictator", I'll always lean toward that option

Any questioning by the conservative justices that seemed to suggest a possibility they might rule against Trump was just performance. Their ruling for him will include weasel text suggesting their decision was a close thing but based on some immutable principle only they fully understand. But make no mistake, they are fully in the bag for trump.

because a lot of companies did eat part of the tariff i n order to keep selling, and those companies will want to preserve their quarterly or even yearsly profit margin to keep investors happy.

It was either going to be a huge bite all at once or smaller bites over a longer period of time, but the entire cost of Fatso's foray into Stupid Rich Man Economics was going to be borne by thee and me.
