DHS agents do not want people wearing costumes or masks at protests

The protesters in frog and other costumes have pissed off trump's goons and they are now citing a rule on people in masks or disguises

BREAKING: DHS agents at the ICE facility in Portland notified protesters that a new policy regarding concealing identities behind facial coverings has gone into effect, starting today.

Wearing a mask on and/or near federal property is now prohibited, allowing federal agents to apprehend subjects on suspicion laws may be violated.

It is okay for trump's goons to wear masks but persons exercising their first amendment rights cannot.

This policy will be litigated

No laws are being violated. Trump's DHS henchmen cannot unilaterally overturn the First Amendment. Peaceful protests on public property while wearing a mask or costume are not a violation of the law, it is protected free speech.

The First Amendment expressly prohibits the government from restricting "the right of the people to peaceably assemble or to petition the government." Go ahead, arrest U.S. citizens for exercising their First Amendment free speech rights. The lawsuits will be expensive.

And that cited 139.35(b) only applies "while violating any federal, state or local law, ordinance, or regulation." Fairly hard to characterize First Amendment protest as violating any law, rule or regulation, whereas ICE breaking laws and norms masked up is in violation of that cited statute.

They can put out all the crappy policies they want. But we as American citizens are not required to follow their made up rules. Especially when the rule violates the US Constitution.

And if you look at stupid rule139.35 (c), it outlaws making loud noises. Yeah, so chanting or even a baby crying is a violation in the mind of the puppy killer. She is so weird.

Her little Nazi ICE followers can bow down to their Queen but as for me, she's an idiot and her rules mean Nothing.

Trump administration speeds up new rules that would make it easier to charge some protesters

WJTV 12 News (@wjtv.bsky.social) 2025-11-06T21:30:07.587Z

https://www.wjtv.com/washington/washington-dc/ap-trump-administration-speeds-up-new-rules-that-would-make-it-easier-to-charge-some-protesters/

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration is speeding up the implementation of new rules that would give the agency tasked with protecting federal government facilities greater authority to charge people for a broader array of offenses on or off those properties.

The changes outlining the powers of the Federal Protective Service, an agency within the Department of Homeland Security, were put forward in early January under the Biden administration and were slated to take effect on Jan. 1 of next year but instead went into effect Wednesday. The administration said the rules were being changed ahead of time so they could address a “recent surge in violence.”

They come as protests have surged against President Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda, especially near buildings associated with immigration enforcement, such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices or facilities. They also come as the Trump administration is facing lawsuits in both Chicago and Portland against what critics say is the excessive use of force by federal officers against protesters and others or unjustified attempts to bring in federal forces to protect facilities.

Activists and many political leaders have accused Homeland Security of aggressively suppressing peaceful protests and targeting activists trying to hold them accountable. Critics said the new rules could be used to target protesters.
