Ok so who said Liberals and Progressives have to be nice?

I believe in and support a strong social safety net, public education, public and private unions, public police and fire departments, mandatory living wage, etc…I give money to the local food banks, even though they are part of Catholic Charities, they do feed lots of people regardless of religion without preaching.

I don’t even mind paying taxes for the most part, I REALLY resent tax dollars going to private and religious schools, and taxes pay for civilization is the way I look at it.

With that being said, I do not like most people, in fact I can't stand them. No I do not give a damn about your spawn or the football game or what you watched on TV or movie you saw. I despise inane chit chat. If I want to know about you we would hang out together outside of work. If you’re a Pub forget about it, don’t even come near me, sure I will be polite but very curt with them at work because it is work.

I am also very self reliant always have been I am prepared for any and all contingencies except for major fire, large scale viral pandemic or Nuclear yield.

I also know not everyone is like me either hence my support of a strong social safety net.

So who sez Liberals and Progressives have to be nice or heck even like people????

That means, republicans, democrats, conservatives, liberals, progressives, lima beans, neighbors who smoke, the shamwow guy, joy behar, sara palin, taco bells neverending campaign of stupid products, axe body spray ads, why am I here? Nowhere else for me to go where there is a nicer bunch of misanthropes.

Your first paragraph gave you away. That safety net and other public assistance programs help everyone, all religions, colors, political parties. You failed to make an exception saying that you wanted these things only for Democrats...

If I could buy private insurance coverage that would provide the safety net I would opt out of the only choice I have now.

with few important human/animal relations if any, and like to avoid the burdensome lot, it also pays to be nice. Treat the universe the way you like to be treated.

I'm a liberal because of heart and humanity. Being cruel, ruthless, heartless, and Scroogy is not in my liberal vocabulary.

People piss me off. People disappoint me.

But I still love people, and I am worried about people I will never meet.

"What's in it for me?" is far less relevant than "What's in it for US?".

I was raised by liberal parents who cared about the less fortunate. I do have a special place for minorities of any stripe. Just because it is almost genetic.
