Some young or people bad with money will spend that money elsewhere.

The Goal for the GOP is the same: fewer people with healthcare.

This is, unsurprisingly, nonsensical. Is he suggesting eliminating health insurance and giving people a few thousand dollars instead? And then when they get a cancer diagnosis they just go bankrupt?

He is so unserious. That's why we are shut down and Americans know it.

The reason it's unaffordable generally is - the C word.

Capitalism.

"Health" care sold for profit.

The goal of ACA was to make it affordable for the people who need it. It is much more difficult to quash capitalism than to subsidize it.

The "public option" seemed liked a potential toehold to create a truly affordable option. But we couldn't get that through Congress, remember?

Most universities and health care providers are “not for profit” which in reality means absolutely nothing. It’s a tax shelter and their CEOs, university president, administrators, coaches and everyone else at the top are making bank. We should stop glorifying all of them. The funniest thing is, the people defending these salaries are the least educated and often haven’t even attended these institutions.

In ways they’re worse than actual corporations, because not for profits have become notorious for taking tons of government subsidies and providing mediocre services. It’s the worst capitalism has to offer. This patchwork of subsidies for basic services has led to incredible inefficiencies.

This has also allowed MAGA style populism to flourish. Whatever issues I have with Sanders, he’s one of the few that has called entire health care and university systems into question.

Eventually these hemorrhaging will seep through all of the bandages.
