Trump wants to give billions directly to taxpayers and let them buy their own insurance.
However, they would still need to buy their own insurance from insurance companies.
Can one human being be so colossally stupid?

ACA has more to do than subsidies; like no more lifetime limits.
The reason premiums are not higher are due to the subsidies.
Also, pre ACA, insurance companies would jack up rates for people with pre-existing conditions.

5. Before the aca , as self employed people we had to buy our own insurance

The premium would start out reasonably affordable but as soon as we actually had to use it they increased the premium 100% per month until we had to cancel at $3500/ month for 1 person ( my spouse had to have an expensive arthritis medication)

9. I might be willing to discuss a plan that makes sure ALL Americans are covered.

Say some insurance choices with a Public Option. If PO is as good as we think, people would gravitate to it quickly.

The alternative is to wait until we take office and try to force Medicare-for-All on everyone when we know at least 40% are convinced a federal health program would be bad for them.
