Chris Christie

Said something just now about the New Jersey polling I wasn't aware of.

Of the people that are not happy with either party, 83% of the voters elected Sherrill. WOW!

If he has finally seen the light, good. I'm glad. But my gag reflex will take some time to recover...

In my Borough - the Indies broke for Sherrill.

Something to remember though about NJ? Next year we won't have the National Attention. As a result my House District needs to be taken off the table. Kean Jr wins. HCD now former Chair Malinowski is running for what is perceived as a safe seat - Sherrill's 11th.

I'm going to need every single indie and Dem in the 11th to vote for Tom.

I know if people like you it would be easier to win but it's also mostly a waste of time.

Focus on the election itself and just getting more votes.

Imagine a party where we are putting forward bold ideas that will help the average people much more than the billionaires. Most Dems would like to see those programs, but just can't seem to actually campaign on them. And that is mostly because of the free agent effect in the party. The ideas gain power with the whole party pushes them, or at least doesn't try to kneecap them.

The things we like, strong majorities of the public also like. It shouldn't be so hard to rally around a few big ideas.

And when I say "like our candidates", I'm really not talking about personality. I'm not sure people really liked Mamdani on a personal level. In fact, many who voted for him probably have some lingering concerns. But they backed him because he was talking about things that would make their lives better, not just how bad the other guy way.

Bottom line, we should be beating Republicans by 30 points almost everywhere. We have a real chance to break out of this 50/50 death spiral, but we must advance an affirmative agenda, not just a defensive one.
