ignorance, I appear to be out of the loop on one thing. I keep seeing reference to "cave".

In slang, "cave" is typically used as a verb phrase, "to cave in," meaning to give in or yield to pressure, especially to succumb to a temptation, like buying something you didn't want to. It can also be an interjection meaning "look out!" or "beware!", especially in a school or childhood context.
