People Can Give All The Reasons Why Democrats Had To Vote For The CR, But

I have one question; why do 9 Senate Democrats + Angus King get to decide policy for 259 Congressional Democrats?

We have 259 Democrats in Congress and 9 + King, and probably Schumer, made the call.

What does the rest of Congress do now, support the 10 or criticize them? Not good options, here we go again with Democrats are in disarray.

Remember what the KFF said; failure to renew the Obamacare subsidies will kill 50,000 people per year. Dems can tell those dead persons loved ones that it's OK, Democrats did it for the politics, Republicans will look bad and we can get reelected, that, by the way, was Schumer's policy back in March when he orchestrated voting for the CR, he said so on Chris Haye's show.

2 Senate Democrats changed their vote to No. So my question is what changed in the agreement that made those 2 Dems not like the Bill?

If those 2 changed their vote because Democrats already had enough votes to pass the Bill that's not a good enough reason for me.

No, those 2 Democrats were on board to pass the CR.

I'm okay with this as I understand weighing the essential life needs of the people first.....There are more steps, go to House, thus get our Arizona Congresswoman sworn in and bill also needs signed by dumpy...more can happen...

Krasnov will burn it all down and then Democrats will win the next election. Krasnov got his CR back in March and then went on to get the Big Ugly Death Bill passed which gutted our social safety net. Krasnov doesn't need Congress now, he is in charge, he controls the purse strings, he has the Supreme Court to back him up.

Voting on a bill because it will get you reelected won't get you in JFK's book, "Profiles in Courage."

They won't vote to release it.

If they do ever get to that point, what we will "see" will be a fake version, with 45 and every other high profile republican name taken out. But they'll be sure to leave Bill Clinton and anyone else who could damage democrats in there.

Trump will be like, see, I told you I had nothing to do with it.

I seriously don't get why everyone is so excited to see this "report." They're fixing it now, guys.

Among the people I talk to in my community, the Democrats are seen as spineless. This has to change.

Then you'd have to accept that as the majority in Congress and holding the White House, Republicans should get whatever they want right? Because before being Democrats or Republicans, we're all people and why should 259 of our elected officials get to dictate to the positions of 273 others since there's more of them. Elections have consequences, using budget reconciliation has consequences in that we didn't prioritize extending these enhanced covid era subsidies for longer over other priorities.

I don't want 10 Senators making policy for 259.

Using the argument that we Democrats are the minority there is nothing we can do is a pathetic losing strategy.

Do you really not see how that's a contradictory argument that's logically inconsistent? It would be more honest if you said you don't care what the majority wants because you think that the position of the 259 is morally correct. But you can't logically say that I want the majority of a minority to get what it wants because it's the majority of the minority by eliminating the people who disagree with you from the count to make it seem like the majority is different.

I have to also look at this as (it's really hard for me) maybe, just maybe this could cause outrage for the maga's, because even when we get the Democrat from Arizona sworn in, THAT only get it to the floor for a vote. Not sure how Mike handles that, but i'm thinking it will NOT pass the house. So, i'm thinking we will never see the Epstein report. Plus another shut down in January could, i repeat could put rethugs in trouble, because it's the election year. Now, i do NOT have any answers as to moving forward, but i'm not as pissed now as i was when i first heard about what happened. Lots of people getting help now that need it, that's for sure, We are in a very bad place, so i guess we have to suck it up and just move forward wherever we can. It's out of our hands i
m afraid. THIS is a tough one for me, and all of us here.

Mon Nov 10, 2025, 08:30 AM

I know some people are willing to extend the shutdown to the last federal worker’s foreclosed home, but it’s not going to make Republicans give concessions.

Under the deal, Senate Democrats will be the ones to offer the legislation that will be voted on to extend subsidies, if Republicans vote it down, they will fully own the ensuing chaos in the insurance market.

want unwashed Americans to be killed. Project 2025 wants to cull the herd, Russell Vought doesn't give a hoot how many people die, AI will take care of the rich. Krasnov has neutered Congress, he controls the purse strings with the help of the Supreme Court.

We will soon know the fate of Obamacare, will Congressional Magats do the right thing or will they do what Krasnov tells them?
