States Rights ?!? Senate Republicans want stricter rules pertaining to Hyde Amendment, in exchange for ACA funding

Congress faces yet another standoff, as Rat Republicans demand cuts to women’s health care in exchange for extending the ACA. They’re attempting to block blue states from using their OWN funds to support abortion care. One wonders how the eight senators who voted to end the shutdown feel now, as Congress slips into another quagmire.

Republicans are just plain unserious about funding the ACA subsidies. They’ll come up one bullshit reason after another why “we just don’t have the votes.” Abortion coverage is always an obsession with them so it’s a good place to start, in their view. I hate that we have to depend on these congressional troglodytes to extend funding all the time.

Trump could always tell the Republican reps to back down on this and they would jump to obey like Schatz said, but what are the chances he’d do that?
