(They are made of wood, but have been gold leafed.)BuzzFeed actually reached out to Ekena Millwork, the company that makes the appliques sold to Home Depot (and other retailers) back in August. In response, they replied, "We work with several design firms in DC that have worked on the White House and believe these could be our onlays."
