***NEW AP NORC Poll*** Trump's Approval Falls to a Dismal 36% *

https://apnorc.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Nov-Topline-Final.pdf

*Close to the number of Americans which polling indicates would prefer an authoritarian form of government. I suspect some of the thirty percent or so who would prefer an authoritarian form of government would prefer for it to ensure the proverbial trains run on time.

17. Nothing is worth giving up the ACA.

Millions will die. The ACA took 50 years to arrive and it was damned difficult. Folks died (how dare they) and switched parties. I don’t think we will get healthcare back. Medicare is next. We need new leaders

3. 36 is probably getting close to his floor.

He may drop a few more if the bottom were to fall out of the economy, but 36 is pretty awful.

4. Thirty percent of Americans which is frightening and sickening have authoritarian tendencies.

That's likely his floor unless they become convinced he's a feckless autocrat.

I think his absolute floor is 30%. 25% are true believers for one reason or another & 5% that don't care about anything but lower taxes.
It could be 36%, as you say, but I seriously doubt it's under 30.

If prices keep skyrocketing he's going to lose some percentage of even this sub-basement.

9. I think he's reached the lame duck section of his chicken bucket.

At this point, I think his only plan is to take as much as he can, hold on to it as tightly as he can, and keep as much as of it as he can after all is over and done. His support among GOP leadership is flaccid and getting softer every day, last week poured dye on the the stain and showed obvious cracks and fault lines.

11. I agree. And the closer we get to the 2028 election, the less sway he'll have with congressional GOPers

The less amount of time a president has in his lame duck term, the less influence they're usually able to exert over their party, because congresspeople know they just have to wait out the president until his term is over.

Especially if the midterms are ugly, both house and senate republicans will start putting distance between themselves and him.

18. Big deal. He was at 32% for a while in 2017.. just noise, not a big shift.

The referenced polls wander from the mid 30s to low 40s without any real trend.
32 in December 2017 and September 2017.
